pho valley poem

a surfer looks at the ocean

as a man looks at a beautiful woman.

“I’ll probably destroy you,” she cracks.

“I love you,” he shouts back.

“oh ya? alright.

pony up handsome.

let’s play.”

eat it

then flow.

breaking right

breaking left

caressing long beautiful crescendos of her limbs.

over and over

and over

again.

“tired yet?” she teases.

“just one more wave,” he pleads.

“no. I’m bored.

I think it’s time for you to

leave.”

exit in a barrel

(unless she’s feeling kind

and plops you at the door.)

“I’ll never turn my back on you,” he swears.

“I don’t even care!” she laughs.

get in the line-up.
